To encourage enterprises to enhance occupational safety and health standards and safeguard employees' safety and well-being, the Taipei City Government organizes the annual Taipei Labor Safety Award selection program. Following a rigorous review process, including a month-long document review, on-site inspections, and final evaluations, Formosa Plastics Marine Corporation stood out among numerous participating organizations and was honored with the Taipei Labor Safety Award.
Formosa Plastics Marine Corporation regards safety as the core of its operations. By fully implementing its Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS) and integrating risk management and the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle into every aspect of its shipping operations, the Company successfully achieved an outstanding record of zero lost-time injuries for three consecutive years across both the Company and its four Taiwan-flagged vessels. This accomplishment demonstrates the Company's commitment to providing the safest possible working environment for all employees.
The award presentation ceremony was held at Taipei City Hall on June 10, where Deputy Mayor Tai-Hsing Lee presented the award. Formosa Plastics Marine Corporation was represented by Vice President Hsueh-Hsiu Lu, who accepted the award on behalf of the Company.

Formosa Plastics Marine Corporation (FPMC) has ordered four 20,000 DWT stainless-steel
chemical tankers from the Japanese Shipbuilding Company, Asakawa Shipbuilding Co. Ltd.
(Asakawa), in 2020. The company named them FPMC S AMBER, FPMC S EMERALD, FPMC S
RUBY, and FPMC S SAPPHIRE, respectively. They are scheduled to be delivered from May,
2021 to early 2022, and will serve to carry chemical products of Formosa Plastics Group
between Taiwan and China.
The launching ceremony for the first tanker, FPMC S AMBER, was held on February 25th , 2021.
Asakawa had simplified the procedures due to the pandemic, yet still preserved some of the
traditional customs such as god worshipping, vessel naming and rope cutting. The launching
ceremony was traditional, rigorous and thoughtful. The four new tankers present high-quality and
high-efficiency ship performance through Japan's sophisticated shipbuilding technology. With the
addition of the new tankers, FPMC look forward to an even better vessel management and to
providing its clients with more intimate and satisfying service.
